What a day we had with Nancie & Alex on their Wedding Day. We turned up to photograph Alex and all his groomsmen at the beautiful Chevron Towers Resort http://www.chevrontowersresort.com.au/ It had the most beautiful area around the swimming pool with lots of other little backdrops which were perfect for photography.
Once we’d finished getting some great shots of the boys we headed over to the Marriott Hotel in Surfers Paradise http://www.marriott.com.au/hotels/travel/OOLSP All I can say is WOW. Nancie look absolutely gorgeous in one of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever seen. We’ve photographed quite a few weddings at the Marriott Hotel and every time we go there we just love it!! And on this particular day, Saturday 29th November 2008, all I can say is “Thank You Marriott for your awesome staircase”. Just after the ceremony had finished and we were exiting the church ready to do our large group photo and family photos, a huge storm came over and we were all stuck sheltering in the wings of the church. Of course a wedding photographer is more than just that, they’re also the organiser to ensure a smooth flowing and stressless day. So the 100 guests all looked at me….what do we do now??? So I organised all the guests to go to the Marriott for the group shot and family shots on their awesome staircase. I’ve got to say that sometimes things work out for the best…on this occasion the storm was a Godsend because we did some lovely group shots and family shots on that awesome staircase.
The Marriott also has this beautiful little cave near swimming pool (which I would’ve loved to have just jumped into as it was sooo inviting). There’s also a waterfall going into the swimming pool. The whole scenario looks like a rock pool. I recommended Nancie & Alex go for the swim the next morning after their delectable breakfast, which they did.
After some beautiful shots around the Marriott we headed off to an equally exquisite Hope Island Resort http://www.linkshopeisland.com.au/welcome/index.mhtml The room that the reception was held in was just beautiful with a large water fountain right in the middle. We’ve actually never done a wedding there before but we’d love to go back because there were so many lovely backdrops. There’s this lovely bridge with lamp posts that was perfect for a romantic photo. We also took some lovely shots of Nancie & Alex on the golf course with the sun setting in the background. And when Nancie & Alex made their formal entrance to their reception, Nancie had a different wedding dress on…another absolutely gorgeous dress that she looked so beautiful in. They both loved their reception and had a wonderful time.
I can’t wait for Nancie & Alex’s beautiful album to be ready. They are having the gorgeous cave photo as a metallic acryllic cover on their album. Unbelievable!!
Here’s a gorgeous slideshow of some of their images!!
